Hi There! Welcome to our blog. Since this is our inaugural post I figured I’d say hi and share a few details about this new adventure we are calling MitreBox User Experience Design.
To give you a bit of history, Laura and I have known each other for almost a decade now and we met each other while working at CHUM Television here in Toronto. From the second we met we clicked and shared a passion for working on great projects and delivering rich user experiences. The projects were wide and varied from hundreds of sales focused projects, news and entertainment sites, to special projects like the introduction of broadband video while it was in its infancy. Eventually, our paths took us in different directions but we always knew we wanted to work together again.
Fast forward a couple of years, and by that point, Laura had been consulting on the subject of user experience for a couple of years. Business was booming and it was time to scale. As luck and chance would have it, it was time for Laura and I to combine forces once again. That’s when we decided to reboot her solo consultancy as MitreBox User Experience Design so we could grow the business and address the ever expanding client needs.
At this point we are ramping up and in expansion mode. In terms of services you can check out our growing list, but in general we feel there is a big opportunity to help organizations of all sizes at either end of the project spectrum. Nowadays, development isn’t the hard part for many organizations. They already have in-house developers and partners, but what we have consistently found is these same organizations have a really hard time planning out their projects properly, doing their homework, and coming up with the right set of blueprints to address their goals. On the flip side, once development is complete, they also have challenges with executing on their content and quality assurance. Luckily, that’s where we can help as much or as little as they need. It also helps that we ourselves have been on the client side for years and have been responsible for some of Canada’s highest traffic online properties. Because of that we know how to translate between business stakeholders, creatives, and technical teams so that everyone works from the same page.
It’s exciting times here at MitreBox and we look forward to exciting new opportunities.
